PolyOz Statement of Purpose

To provide an educational forum for interested support groups, individuals and families concerning the social, medical, legal, personal, interpersonal and moral issues involving ethical, committed, and egalitarian non-monogamy.

To provide assistance, including various print and non-print informational resources, to interested support groups, individuals and families concerning the social, medical, legal, personal, interpersonal and moral issues involving ethical, committed, and egalitarian non-monogamy.

To provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment for the free discussion of the issues involving ethical, committed, and egalitarian non-monogamy.

To inform the general public at large of the significant differences between ethical, committed, and egalitarian non-monogamy and the more common, harmful and stereotypical forms of non-monogamy: e.g. adultery, swinging, and traditional sexist polygamy.

To provide other support groups, general public groups and associations with a speakers' bureau and similar resources, to help correct the adverse stereotypes associated with the various forms of non-monogamy.

To offer events and organize venues for the gathering of interested individuals and families, so as to provide an environment of acceptance and mutual support for this small and misunderstood minority and to provide assistance where requested to groups throughout Australia to establish such venues and events on an ongoing basis.
